NCO Training Process

As a prospective member of the Wakefield SKYWARN Amateur Radio Support team, we want you to have all the training and tools you need to succeed. We also want to make sure we have the best players on our team so we can effectively serve our communities and the National Weather Service. To ensure both goals are met, we have a standard training program which all team members must complete prior to joining.

Joining our team as a Net Control Operator volunteer is easy. Make sure you otherwise meet the requirements here. If you meet these requirements, you can take our Net Control Operator training class. Check the front page of this training site for class dates. If you don't see a class scheduled for your area, contact your Area Manager to arrange for one-on-one training.

Net Control Operator training is valid for three years and occasional refresher courses are offered.
